Overcoming the hurdles

How can we overcome this hurdle? Ideas, links, resources & shared learning about your experiences of this particular hurdle are encouraged and welcome.

I think one of the main problems here is a lack of education. And some of the education that DOES take place doesn't go beyond ECDL for your average public sector worker. Perhaps if they knew what could be achieved, they would start pester power with the IT dept.

Addendum - I wonder if anyone knows of a good online intro, or youtube lecture that could be used as a way of introducing people to social media. More than just a how to…more of a why-to.

Workarounds

Overcoming this barrier may take a while. Are there any ways staff can work-around this barrier effectively until more permenant solutions are in place?
