Our History
Practical Participation was created in 2005 by Tim Davies to support youth sector organisations in using new technologies for youth grant making and youth involvement. Since then we’ve continued to develop our work so that we now offer a wide range of services and support to organisations interested in social technology, social change, and young engagement – with a focus on building capacity, skills and sustainability in the voluntary and statutory sector.
In September 2009, Bill Badham joined the team – bringing over 30 years of experience of promoting young people’s rights and Participation to the team.
Practical Participation was originally known as ‘ObsLogic Ltd’, a name better suited to our first project creating an information system. We officially renamed the company ‘Practical Participation Ltd’ in summer 2009, after trading as Practical Participation for a number of years.
